Well i ran the 'everest' software but i still couldnt tell if my computer supports PCI or AGP..if some-1 would tell me how to find out what my motherboard supports..that would help tremendously :)

did you get a motherboard name and model version from Computer > Summary and under Motherboard Name.. from their we can tell if your mobo supports AGP, most likely it supports PCI already... unless you mean PCI Express which is a different beast all together.

Major, sure it would be simpler to serve people their stuff on a silver platter but wouldt it be best if they find out how to do it themselves so they can show others how to do stuff and dont ask the same questions over and over wasting our and their own time?

A waste of who's time? The active members of this forum joined to help ppl or decided to share their knowledge after being helped by someone in this forum. Someone here has an answer or solution to the question/problem. Why get all worked up over it?. No sense in developing an ulcer over it post the answer to their question or problem then move on.

You have an AGP 4x slot. Here are the technical specifications for your computer Dell™ Dimension™ 4550 Series. You could buy an 8x card but your system will not be able to take advantage of the additional speed the card would provide.

i think u got me wrong, im not worked up about this :) ... i just think it is better if people know how to grow apples instead of having to be dependant on others to supply them...

i also think u should go for a 6600, preferably a GT. it will run basically anything with great graphics at an affordable price
