PDF Reader issues Adobe.

I am using Adobe reader (the latest version)- freeware version with Mozilla Waterfox.

When I get PDF files I can read most of them. Unfortunately there two governmental bodies that send me files that will only display what appears to be computer speak instead of a language that I can understand. I really need to be able these access these files.

I have tried using google chrome but is doesn't play well with other programs on my PC. Is this a case of needing to use a different PDF reader, and which one please? Or is it the program that these govt bodies are using?

All I needed to do was update the adobe reader by switching my plugins to automatically update. Yay! Now I can see.
