PE_TRATS bad infection help

I think I have this infection, and I have tried many solutions from different websites, but nothing fixes the problem. I need help from someone that really knows what they're doing. I saw a post about this from another user and I tried to follow the same instructions, but it was individualized for that person.

Can someone please help me?

The way we individualize the instructions to each user's computer is by looking at the logs produced when you work through the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST. When you finish, this will produce either two or three logs for you to attach to your next post.

I'm sure it is easy for more experienced persons, but I had a tough time getting a web browser to open because the infection kept restarting Windows Explorer and would not stay up long enough to open a program. Finally I figured out how to open a program using the task manager and got online to downoad the software I needed. The ComboFix program seemed to get rid of the major problem and now it does not keep restarting, however there is still something else there that was caught when I opened a new browser window once yesterday.

Here are the logs.

I'm not sure if all three files attached properly, it only shows 2 but says the third has already been attached, but I don't see it there.

Please do the following:

1) First disable your guest account if it hasn't already been diabled.

2) Next download a new tool we will need.

• Download and save to RenV.exe to your Desktop (must be on the Desktop)
• Now Copy the bold text in the below code box to notepad. Save it as Log.txt to your desktop. (It must be on your Desktop).

C:\Documents and Settings\Terry\My Documents\Players\Light Alloy\LAsetup 3.5 .exe
C:\Program Files\Common Files\logishrd\LComMgr\Communications_Helper .exe
C:\Program Files\Logitech\QuickCam\Quickcam .exe
C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\OfficeScan Client\PccNTMon .exe

• Now using your mouse, drag Log.txt onto RenV.exe
• When finished, RenV.exe will produce a new log names Log.txt on your Desktop I may or may not ask for this log later.

3) Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MSDrive] rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\drvpil.dll,startup

After you click fix, just close hijackthis.


4) If you do not use Windows Messenger (not to be confused with MSN Messenger!!) I would like you to run
Disable/Remove Windows Messenger

5) Now download The Avenger by Swandog46, and save it to your Desktop.

• Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
• Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
• Check the 'Input script manually' box.
• Click on the magnifying glass icon.
• Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it in the box that opens:

• Now click the 'Done' button.
• Click on the traffic light icon and OK the prompt.
• You will be prompted to restart, OK the prompt and your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
• A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt

6) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune. This program does not require an installation. The executable actually runs the program.

NOTE: This program is for Windows XP and Windows 2000 only. ATF Cleaner will remove all files from the items that are checked so if you have some cookies you'd like to save. Please move them to a different directory first.

• Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
• Under Main choose: Select All
• Click the Empty Selected button.

If you use Firefox browser

• Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
• Click the Empty Selected button.
  • NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

If you use Opera browser

• Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
• Click the Empty Selected button.
  • NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main ATF Cleaner menu to close the program.


7) Please run C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat and attach the fresh MGlogs.zip it generates along with the Avenger log.
