I noticed a few days ago that there were suddenly ads bumping up and down my Netflix page, flanking Facebook and highlighting random words that pop ads up when moused over. I'd love to fix this forever and standard stuff like removing Firefox extensions/add-ons doesn't seem to work.

    Attached are the appropriate logs.

I'm looking forward to getting some help for this problem.

I am not finding any malware in your logs. Perhaps you just need to download AD Block for Mozilla.

WEll, this is brilliant to find out. I know just enough computer techery to get me in trouble, so I assumed this problem was malware. I do know that the ads are related to ib.adnxs.com. I will get an ad blocking app via Mozilla and see if that helps. If you know of any other things that may help, I'm all ears.

    Thanks!

Do you have the same issues if you use a different browser such as IE?

I have never used IE before. I opened it for giggles and had a look at the usual suspects and no intrusive ads.

I got the Mozilla Ad Block Plus installed for Firefox and all looks good so far.

    Good to know.

Since you are not having any malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. You can uninstall RogueKiller and HitManPro.
    2. Go back to step 6 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Malware removal from a National Chain = $149
Malware removal from MajorGeeks = $0
