i have run through this thread READ & RUN ME FIRST...
(counterspy has very limited options is safe mode, it is painfull to wait a day while it runs through data drives...)

got to the end and been happy, a couple of keyloggers killed off,
(which i knew my ex had put on my sysytem but which i had (i thought) previously disabled)
a virus somehow still tucked away in AVG quarantine (i must have failed to delete it)
and a virus tucked away in a game trainer that i never used anyway...
but overall nothing to worry about

I have then reset my msconfig file to Not load a pile of stuff in the startup tab,
one oddity was a program with no name and no decription, i disabled it,
rebooted - and that one was gone,
but a new one appeared called winlogons.exe in a folder called KGB (in program files)
i can find no such folder.

(do you really want all the logs created in the read and run process?)

if someone could tell me how to kill winlogons i would appreciate it
    many thanks
    B.

Yes we would like all the logs....as you may realize, malware can hide in many places.

    oki
well i have put the logs through these online analyzers Help2Go Detective and Hijack This analysis.
What they listed/recommended made sense, so there will was done
(accrodingly am posting hijackthis run #4 logfile)

Also ran AdAware personal and that found 1 additional cookie, and killed it (but the logfile failed to save)

    on to the logs

    and the rest...

Couterspy#2 because I ran it twice (in safe mode it takes forever)

if you really want the run#1 log file sing out...

    many thanks
    B.

EDIT - i have show all files, and have uncheked "hide system files" and i still cannot find the KGB folder...

Please copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

Download SuperAntiSpyware Home Edition Free Version

    Install the program

Run SuperAntiSpyware and click: Check for updates
Once the update is finished, on the main screen, click: Scan your computer
    Check: Perform Complete Scan
Click Next to start the scan.

Superantispyware scans the computer, and when finished, lists all the infections found.
Make sure everything found has a check next to it, and press: Next
    Click Finish

It is possible that the program asks to reboot in order to delete some files.

Obtain the SuperAntiSpyware log as follows:
    Click: Preferences
    Click the Statistics/Logs tab
Under Scanner Logs, double-click SuperAntiSpyware Scan Log
It opens in your default text editor (such as Notepad)

    Then attach new logs for:
    GetRun
    HJT
    SuperAntispyware

do you want me to reboot once i have merged that with the registry BEFORE i install and run SuperAntiSpyware?
(so that winlogons is a running process when SAS runs)
    ??

No need to reboot after the registry fix ....go ahead and run SAS.
    Then attach the requested logs.

Your logs look clean. You may uninstall any programs we had you download (including CounterSpy, etc).

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. If we used Pocket Killbox during your cleanup, do the below
    * Run Pocket Killbox and select File, Cleanup, Delete All Backups
    2. If we used ComboFix you can delete the ComboFix.exe file and associated C:\combofix.txt log that was created.
    3. If we user SDFix you can delete all the SDFix related files and folders from your Desktop or whereever you installed it.
    4. If we used VundoFix, you can delete the VundoFix.exe file and the C:\VundoFix Backups folder and C:\vundofix.txt log that was created.
    5. If we had your run FixWareOut, you can delete the Fixwareout.exe file and the C:\fixwareout folder.
    6. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    7. You can delete the ShowNew.Zip and GetRunkey.Zip files and the files that you extracted from the ZIP files. You can also delete the C:\newfiles.txt and C:\runkeys.txt logs that were created
    8. If you are running Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
    * go back to step 8 of the READ & RUN ME to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
    * Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
