Good afternoon. I was going through the malware removal steps and ran into a problem. This machine has a minor malware infection which I believe is not part of the issue I am having.
During the installation (or immediately after, I'm not sure which) of Malware Bytes, a window popped up for the installation of Pervasive SQL 9 software. It fails to install as it is looking for a file in C:\PVSW\Temp0. During an attempt to uninstall the program, the same thing happened. I am currently at a point where the uninstall process is waiting for inrformation from me.
More FYI: I deviated from your normal steps. I ran CCCleaner later (I forgot to run it first) that is indicated in your steps. Also, I was curious about the registry cleaning application in CCCleaner and gave it a try.
    Thanks,
    Bad Panda

Terminate the installation of Malwarebytes AntiMalware and continue with the steps in the Read Me.
