Phobia's?

I was just having a conversation with my freinds about Phobia's. She told me hers was blood , which in my eyes is'nt that weird. I just thought it would be interesting to know the phobia's of you guys. Post away

PS ; If you were interested , my phobia is sand. Weird I know , not the look of it , just the feel *shudders

 

My Dad’s phobia is blood too…. mine is going to the dentist, not so much the pain, but the sound of the drill……..even if I’m not going to be seen that day, but, just in the waiting room, and hear the sounds of the DENTIST OFFICE!……wobbles

 

Moths. Butterflies - no problems but moths.......

 

Spiders. Not spiders in themselves, but when you try to kill em,a nd they jump or move away real quick--eek.

You just know that sucker is looking to kick your a** for trying to kill him.

 

Spiders...anything to do with them. Totally phobic. The tarantulas in the meeting room finally left yesterday. I'm a nervous wreck in recovery now.

@Lapsed...not wierd. My first boyfriend has a phobia of cotton wool. He hated it when it snowed because walking on it reminded him of the noise cotton wool makes wehn you pull it apart. He wouldn't go out when it snowed.

 

These aren't really phobias, but the things I hate are roaches, and heights.

Even standing near the edge of a drop-off scares the hell out of me.


Spiders are cool, don't hurt them.

I have that too...which is why I don't try to step on them but get the vacuum and all the extension poles and suck 'em up from a very safe distance

 

They can crawl back up the vacuum pole and onto your hand.

I don't have any, but your sand phobia isn't so strange. I knew someone who couldn't stand the touch of steel wool. Literally made him sick...

 

A lot of phobias stem from a bad experience as a child.


Probably explains why I have a parent phobia (and I don't have kids).

 

I'm afraid of, and allergic to, bullets......but only bullets fired at me from a gun. Other than that, I'm not afraid of bullets.

Wasps. The fact that they can sting and flies can't. I know it doesn't hurt so much, I just can't stand them and get paranoid when one is near so have to go inside or go on a killing mission!

 

My other fear, rather than phobia, is the act of going under a general anaesthetic. It usually takes a lot of valium before the shunt gets anywhere near me, and then hyperventilating makes sure I pass out before I actually go under. Long story...

 

Backing into a cold doorknob. I'm very careful getting out of the shower and stuff like that, scares the hell out of me.

McAdam, what makes you think wasps don't hurt?

European wasp stings are excruciating, and they are VERY agressive!


Good if you don't like spiders as they eat them.

 

Never been stung by anything in my life. I have a fear of heights. I'm ok with "safe" heights like standing on twentieth floor balcony, but I could never climb to the top of a tree. I can be a real prize on a mountain climb.

 

They get worse in Spain, aka my second home, home of the hornet too!

 

I don't have any Phobias as such, but I must confess to not being very keen on heights, either. And that's coming from an ex-Paratrooper, LoL!
