PhotoShop & Dreamweaver problems

I’m having problems with software on my home PC. I’m assuming it’s not the actual software but some other malfunction elsewhere.

With Adobe Photoshop on saving for web the following error is shown;
“Could not complete this operation because an assertion has failed”

On clicking on the Command menu in dreamweaver the following error is displayed
“While executing DWMenu… the following JavaScript error occurred at line 14 of the Crogram Files\dreamweaver… TypeError DWEMLaunch.mayLaunchExtensionManager is not a function”

All these problems have accrued since the use of a program a friend suggested would increase the speed of my PC as it deletes all the Master File Table (MFT) records from your PC. Not knowing what they where I gave it a shot, the program is called BCWipe.

Now I know what these MFT’s are I’m feel a complete fool to have run the program; http://www.pcguide.com/ref/hdd/file/ntfs/archMFT-c.html
Has anyone got any suggestions of how to recover from this error?

I have read in the past that some software that cleans out spyware like Spybot or registry cleaning software can give you this error, I can only think that they are removing some internet object from adobe.

did a bit of searching and deleting this key from the registry will help ( remember to backup the registry )

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Save For Web 3.0

otherwise re-install.

seeing you have run that BCwipe util, its plausable that alot of file links and data is missing, I would then try un-installing and re-installing Photoshop and any other software that is giving you a problem.
