Photoshopping with GIMP?

Hi, I just had a thread deleted, don't know if it was in the wrong forum, or what.

I was asking if anyone knew much about photoshopping with GIMP.

Anyone familiar with GIMP? Anyone know of any tutorials that tell how to photoshop pics with it?

Most tuts I've looked at are either just telling you what the parts are, or are too advanced.

Its basically the same as Photoshop (at least the parts of it i use)

Just do stupid stuff with it, that's all.

I use GIMP for everything. Works out pretty good.

The JPG compression could use a bit of work, but other than that I like GIMP a lot.

More to the point though, I have no idea about any tutorials though. I just mess around with various menus just to see what will happen and what not.
