pic viewers

does anyone know how to change my default pic viewers in w2k . when i right click on an attachment in my e-mail i do not have an option to select "OPEN WITH " and my default viewer (paint shop pro5) for some reason will not open the pics .

 

Open my computer/tools/folder options/file types. Find the extention & change the program.

 

Another vote for IrfanView here. My first choice for picture viewing, and easy on the system resources.

If you are still reading this thread please take some time to explore all that Irfan Viewer has to offer. I was completely amazed at it's goodies when by chance I drilled down on one of my digital camera pix and clicked on Exif. Big surprise. Another big surprise is how it beautifully opens a whole Folder of pix for thumbnail viewing and from there how you can do all sorts of sending transferring etc. It also can do minor type edits. The guy who invented it is both generous and brilliant

Robert: Give me some help here. I've used I/view (as I call it) for a long time, but don't get your meaning of drilling down to Exif. Is this a plugin? I thought I had them all! I can't seem to bring the Exif viewer into meaning?? George.

 

Another vote for IrfanView. Hard to beat.

No it's not a plugin. Click on Image and Information after opening a jpg from your digi camera. Big drop down menu opens. if your digital camera takes jpg format and is like mine (OLympus), you will see at the bottom of the drop down some buttons including Exif. Click it - as long as the image has not been edited then you will see all the details of your camera settings that applied at the instant you took the picture. Cute Eh? And brilliant. Like I said the more your drill down into Irfan Viewer - the more amazing this little freebie becomes
