pin holes in new monitor

My second post today,hope you all aren't tired of my questions.This is my second flat screen and what in the word could make a small pin hole in it?Video card needs to be replaced?It's in the same spot as the old one.Can I patch it?Tiny dot of super glue.Is this common?Thanks for any ideas and quick fixes.

 

A pin hole? Do you mean that there is a physical hole where it looks like a pin was stuck into the LCD screen and it actually breaks the surface? Or is it dead pixel that makes a little black spot and it's visible when there's a picture on the screen? If it's a dead pixel, these are usually not covered by the factory warranty unless it's over a certain number of dead pixels. This varies by manufacturer: the higher quality LCDs it usually 7 dead pixels or so qualifies for replacement; others may be as high as 15 dead pixels. If it's an actual physical hole, I'm surprised the screen works at all. If it came like that out of the box, then you should be entitled to a replacement, but you probably won't get it because physical damage is not covered by most warranties, and you'd be hard pressed to prove it was like that when you got it. If a child (or someone else) jammed a pin into the screen, I don't think there's anything you can other than keep the pins away from the children

 

Yes a physical hole,i can feel it.Im getting a hard cover for it soon.I think maybe the vacuum cleaner is throwing tiny debris at the screen.Thank You for your reply.
