   Received an email with this in subject: PING TEST
   
   There was no other message included. It was received at an address that
   was never used to send this person any mail. What is this person trying to
   do by sending that email?
   
   Any help appreciated.

   They are trying to confirm if the address they sent to is a valid email address so they can add you to spam lists. If you answer, they know it is valid. Don't answer mail like this. Always delete.
