I have the Pipas.A browser hijacker. Would appreciate anyone who can look at this HJT and and Fixwareout results and please advise. Thank you.

    Re: Pipas.A

Welcome to MajorGeeks.com, please follow our standard cleaning procedures:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gifAfter doing ALL of the above and you still have a problem, make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below thread to properly use HijackThis and attach the log:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis
    • Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around..
http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif In your next post, please make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order:
    • CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender
    • Bitdefender - from step 6
    • Panda Scan - from step 6
    • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
    • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
    • HijackThis
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

    Pipas.A Please help!

Okay, this time I have followed all of the instructions before posting, and ran everything according to the instructions the best I knew how. Here are the first three files, including a re-run of hijack. I'm not too sure how to find the others on my computer, but I will try, and if able, post them in a second thread.

I have attached newfiles.txt here...tried to attach runkeys.txt, but it wouldn't upload. But I can tell you, the document was blank. I don't know if that means anything, but that's it. I hope this and the other three are enough for you to advise me. If not, just slap me around a bit and tell me what else to do. Thanks for your time!

I have merged your three threads together, from now on please post in here instead of creating new threads.

I will be back in about 30 minutes to review the logs and post a fix.

Please see the Wareout Removal thread and follow the instructions there. Once you complete the thread, fix the entries below with HJT. After you complete this post, reboot and attach a fresh HJT log.

I will check back tomorrow morning to see if you've posted anything after this. We are being hit here with a very big storm, and the power is blinking. Better sign off for now. And thank you again.
