    hi all,
    having trouble playing DVD's on dell cineplayer and windows media player 11. When i insert a DVD it auto plays and asks me to play it using dell cine player or windows media player 11, i first said dell cine player but it didnt load up at all. So i then asked it to use windows media player 11 and that loaded and began to play it. All i could hear though was the sound but there was no picture. Then after about 1 min of playing a don't send error message came up saying that windows media player had encountered a problem.
    Can anyone help me to resolve this issue?
    Thanks

    Go to Start >> Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Event Viewer.

    Check "System" and "Application" and see if there are any warnings or errors pertaining to media player.

    Double click on any errors to open the Event Properties. Take note of the Event ID. You can Google this Event ID to get more information.

    Also in "Description" you will see a link to Microsoft for more info.

    thankyou very much for your help but i still can't resolve the issue.
    My application error states:
    Date = 26/12/2006
    time = 12:08:43
    source = application error
    type = error
    evnt ID = 1000

    Faulting application wmplayer.exe, version 11.0.5721.5145, faulting module cinemastervideo.dll, version 4.0.0.46, fault address 0x00011b53.

    I used google but it was reffering to my specfic problem cineplayer and windows media player.
    I tried the dell link you gave me but it isn't for the version i am using it is for cineplayer 3x and not 4x which is a shame.

    I hop you can help me resolve this.
    Thanks

    Yeah that maybe the case as the problem only occured when i updated to windows media player 11. Surely you should be able to run the two otherwise they wouldnt have supplied cineplayer as well as windows media. I spoke to dell technical support and they said do a system restore but i tried to and i had no restore dates, is there a reason for this? So they then said do a pc restore which would mean wiping the hardrive, is this the right way to go or not to resolve the problem?
    Thanks
