Hi, first of all this is for my parents' machine so I am not exactly sure how long this has been going on because their definition of slow (bless them) and mine appear to be completely different. I have gone through all of the steps from the initial maintenance to running all the scans and I have the log files which I will attach. It seems faster but still a little slow. There is also a program in add/remove programs that does not have the option to remove. It is called "My Way Search Assistant". There is also an icon in the system tray called WinFast Wizard that and I cannot bring up any options to disable it nor can I find reference to it in program files or in the add/remove utility.

Thanks for the help and any advice!
    Dan

Your logs are clean....tho there are a few items to deal with.

Your system is running 512mg's of ram.....the minimum for XP....with little available memory.

The two files you are concerned about:
WinFast Wizard --> Launch application for Leadtek WinFast TV adapter

My Way Search Assistant --> a Dell program which you can uninstall by following these instructions if you wish -- > My Way

    Things to tidy up:

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

If you are not having any other malware issues:

Thanks for checking that and the advice. I added a gb of RAM and it is running much faster.
