Hi my computer keeps going slow then I fix something, then it's fine, then it happens again.

    Spybot found nothing
    Super Anti-Found Nothing
    Malware Bytes found nothing

I'll post MG Tools and Combo Fix because I'm not sure how to read them.

    Thanks. :)

You are not having malware problems. You also did not do what you were asked to do last time when we gave you final instructions to uninstall ComboFix and MGtools. As a result you have old data from ComboFix laying around and you have an outdate version of MGtools. You need do 100% of the below now.

Run this Disable/Remove Windows Messenger to remove Windows Messenger. Do not confuse Windows Messenger with MSN Messenger because they are not the same. Windows Messenger is a frequent cause of popups.

It is time to do our final steps:
    1. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
      • Delete the C:\combofix folder from combofix (if it exists)
    2. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    4. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip

OK I just took care of it. Do I have to do something else now or is that it?

    Hi Chaslang,

I uninstalled all that stuff yesterday and my computer still keeps getting extremely slow. I checked it with GMER and it said there was something on it Mozilla firefox.exe....I've attached it, please let me know what to do.

Does GMER delete or just scans? (It only has a click OK button and then it closes.)

    Thanks

P.S. I apologize in advance for whatever I did wrong this time. :p

Have you updated Avast and run a full scan on your system recently. If not you should do this because at this point my other suggestion is that you post in the Software Forum since most slow PC issues are not malware. However there are infections like Conficker, that can cause a PC to start to slow down in about 5 minutes or so after boot up.

It is just safe FireFox.exe is hidden and that is more than likely because you don't even have it installed anymore according to your logs. There may be some left over registry keys that GMER is picking up and this is making it think the exe file is hidden.

    Hi Chas,

Guess what I figured out? I started noticing it was slowing down at certain parts of the evening and suddenly I put it together and asked my daughter to close her laptop...it sped up again. It slows down when my daughter is home from school and using my modem via laptop. LOL

    Thanks again :-D

See that! I told you that you were not having malware problems. You were having kidware problems. :-D:-D:-D

Glad to see you found the source of your problems.

    You're welcome.
