Best bet is to run through our guide, as HJT is a last step in removing malware as it doesnt pick all of the nastys up, which is why its in our list as the last application to run.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
      • Bitdefender
      • Panda Scan
      • HijackThis

Your logs do not show anything major problems. However there seems to be an issue with your LSP chain. Do you use software/hardware from the below vendor?

    http://www.networkmagic.com/product/

There seems to be a DLL missing from your LSP chain which is from this company. See the below line from HJT:
O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'connwsp.dll' missing

Also do you use Alcohol Software's CD/DVD writing application, Alcohol 120%? If not, there is a rogue service running we need to remove.

If you are going to keep all the AOL junk running, you should uninstall Windows Defender to avoid wasting excess resources.

Our goal is to remove all the AOL "JUNK" from the computer. However, a backup of the emails and attachments is nessary. Being that its not my computer, and I dont use (or condone) AOL, I will be working with them to do this. If there is a file or a tree file that can be copied off the HDD to a CD or DVD that would be great!

About this, not to my knowledge. That would seem to advanced for these users capacity.

    The missing DLL:
The only thing I could imagine is that perhaps bundled with the linksys wirelss adapter? Model #WUSB54GC

I'm not sure if you are asking me a question here or not and I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to backup, but that is not a topic for this forum anyway.

    Okay! So let's fix it!

Click on Start, then Run ... type services.msc into the box that opens up, and press 'OK'. On the page that opens, scroll down to ScsiAccess... then right click the entry, select 'Properties' and press 'Stop Service'. When it shows that it is stopped, next please set the 'Start-up Type' to 'Disabled'. Press 'OK' until you get back to Windows.

Next, run HJT, but instead of scanning, click on the "None of the above, just start the program" button at the bottom of the choices. At the lower right, click on the 'Config" button, and then the Misc tools' button ... select 'Delete an NT Service" ... copy/paste the following into the box that opens, and press "OK":

    ScsiAccess

If you receive any error messages just ignore them and continue.

Now exit HJT and reboot when it tells you it needs to.

I doubt it! LinkSys would provide their own files and would not be using someone else's. Let's fix that too!

    Now download LSP - Fix

    Run LSP-Fix.

Check the Box labeled "I know what I'm doing" and then click on the connwsp.dll file (in the “Keep” section) to select it.

Then, Select the >> button to move connwsp.dll into the Remove section.

Now, click the Finish Button. When the Repair Summary box appears, click OK.
If it is already in the Remove section, just click Finish.

Now reboot one more time and let me know if there is any change to your problems.
