I am getting the above error message when I try to login to www.gmx.com for my email. :cry

I am also using Opera v11.11 as my Browser and Windows 7 Ultimate as my OS. I know there is a later version of Opera out but I haven't tried it.

I've searched Google, and Opera Help, to try and find a simple solution, but once again I seem to get the runaround that doesn't answer my simple request. :(

Now I can login to www.gmx.com but the error message stops me from proceeding.

AFAIK, I've checked my system and "Javascript is enabled" and ticked (checked) on. Any help would be really appreciated.

I want to stick with Opera and gmx.com, if possible

I know you would prefer to use Opera, but does www.gmx.com work as expected with IE / Firefox / or Chrome?

    FYI
I have a GMX account and I just tested it with FireFox (latest version) and Internet Explorer 8 (I have XP). Sorry, I don't have Opera.
I was able to login, read mail and send mail with no problems and no messages about Javascript

This is on the Opera browser, right?

So I just installed Opera (it's raining, what to do) and went to GMX.
Same as before, I can login, read emails and send emails, no problems and no Javascript messages. I tested it with Turbo Boost On and Off
Menu > Tools > Quick Preferences > Enable JavaScript is ticked.

Also, when I go to http://www.gmx.com/ and right click on the page the Context Menu offers me "Edit Site Preferences"
After selecting that there is a "Scripting" tab and a checkbox for "Enable Javascript" which is ticked.

I have installed the latest version of Opera so it might be a bug that's been fixed or your settings might need a reset, try unticking Enable JavaScript and then tick again.

At least we know it's not the GMX site, good luck

Thanks MadMal, pwillener and thisisu for your answers and suggestions. :)

    @ MadMal.
I think I will uninstall my version of Opera and install the latest version.

    @ thisisu and MadMal
I don't use Firefox or Chrome. As for IE, gmx.com was written for IE, but has been ported to Opera. It has worked perfectly with Opera until recently. Maybe a bug in the version I use. :(

    @pwillener
JavaScript is enabled in Opera and the OS. Both ticked on. :confused

    Thanks again.

With the Opera browser, you can often fix problems that occur at specific web sites by configuring Opera
to "tell" the site that it is Internet Explorer or Firefox.

This is set up through the Site Preferences dialog on the Network tab.
There is a drop down list labeled Browser Identification.
The default is of course Opera. Try Identify as Internet Explorer or Identify as Firefox.

You can access the Site Preferences in two ways:
    1. Right click on the page and select Edit site preferences in the context menu
    2. Select Tools on the top menu bar, then Quick Preferences > Edit site preferences

    Here is some more info:
Hiding Opera's Identity from Certain Sites

    EDIT:
I am using Opera 11.50 and just accessed the site OK. ;)

I installed Opera v11.50, same problem. :cry

I've gone back to IE8 and gmx.com works. :major
Although an error message comes up.
Microsoft Silverlight is required (Error code: 100)

    Will this never end?

I don't like IE8, so I think I'll go back to an older version of Opera, like 10.xxx, or similar, to see if they work without JavaScript.

Thanks mjnc, again. I missed your reply due to posting mine. ;)

I've now set Opera to "Identify as Internet Explorer", and we'll see what happens.
