Please Help - bad

Hi. I read the instructions about what to do before posting a HJT log, but have a problem. One of my symptoms is an inability to access the settings for any of my protection software, to include Norton, spy sweeper, and adaware. I can run HJT and create a log, but I can't undertake the other steps. What should I do?

WHich step are causing problems and what problems.

 

If possible run as many steps as you can listed in the READ ME. If for some reason you can't do them all make sure you do step 6 (online scanning). Once you complete these steps post your results and logs and Matt will check them when time permits.

 

Basically, right from the beginning. I can't use Norton settings or options and cannot therefore access the quarantined files. I can't access settings for adaware or spybot so I can't run them first per instructions. I'm asure the same will be true for ccleaner. I can't update windows defender. Basically anything that would be considered protection software, the interface windows are inaccesible to me.

Okay, try to run all of the steps but most importantly try to run step 6 and post your logs.

Sounds as if you have a serious infection or issue possibly requiring a repair. Let's take things one at a time and go from there.
