Situation: Parents just bought new components (power supply, motherboard, vid card, SATA hard drive) and got their computer put together. XFX 680i LT motherboard, dual core intel, 2 gb ram, xfx 8500gt video card, 2x DVD-RW burners, and a 80gb SATA hard drive. They also have 2x PATA hard drives. To install XP they just had the 80gb SATA and the two PATA DVD drives installed on the motherboard (the motherboard only has 1x IDE port...) The XP Home install went flawlessly. They went over their budget, but wanted to buy a new 500GB SATA drive to copy their other hard drives data over to it. I got them a Promise Ultra133 TX2 PCI controller card and installed it.

Problem: Whenever any ROM drive is installed it wont load the bios becasue it says that although it "sees" the DVD drives, there are no drives attached, and whenever a hard drive is attached to the card and it uses it's own bios, the computer will not boot past the DMI pool data part of the bootup process. The card works fine, whenever a drive is on it, it is shown in the motherboards BIOS. I'm lost on how to get into windows xp with this card working so they have access to all 3 hard drives and 2 optical drives. can anyone please give me some advice on how to make this damned thing work? :p Thanks for Any help!!!!

Edit: I have installed the drivers into windows xp via the promise.com driver download, and installed via Device Manager
