Hello, my laptop recently encountered some malware, which combofix helped solve, but now every time i turn on my laptop, it loads for maybe 30 seconds and i get a message saying ''You are about to be logged off - Diagnostics Service Host Terminated''. I cant run system restore or malwarebytes, it restarts the laptop before the program starts to run properly. Please help, this is urgent.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Who asked you to run ComboFix and what did you delete with it? You should not be running ComboFix on your own. It should only be run under supervision of an expert.

What version of Windows are you running? Include Service Pack number.

DO you have the Windows Boot CD?

    Hello and thank you.

A friend of mine who works in the computer repair business suggested i use combofix, how would I know what i deleted with it?

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium:Service Pack #2

And i don't believe i have the Boot CD.

By watching what it shows and by looking at the log. In your first message you said
So if ComboFix helped, you should have been able to see what it did. If your PC did not boot after initially running ComboFix then why would you say COmboFix helped..... thus I assume your problems did not happen immediately after running ComboFix.

Since you do not have a boot CD, is the Vista Recovery Environment installed on your PC already so that you can access it to try and do a repair?

Does your PC bootup okay in safe boot mode?

Then you should be able to get the log from ComboFix after booting in safe mode. And you can attach it here so we could see what if anything was fixed. You may need to post your problem in the Software Forum since this may be a Windows issue and not a malware issue. If you do post in the Software Forum, make sure you tell them it boots up okay in safe mode but you get that error message in normal mode. Make sure you also give them the exact word for word error message too with no rewording and no mispellings since this is very important.
