Please help/follow up from help need in welcom forum

Hi, I am very glad that I found this web site. I have very little knowledge of how the computer really works. Just to let you know I learned to type on a typewriter and you probably don't know what a typewriter is. This is my second message I am leaving tonight, my first one was left on the welcome, I think it is called forum. My computer started leaving "explore exe.application error" message followed by a continuation of other messages with "numbers referencing memory at other number locations" that couldn't be found. Leaving an ok button to be clicked and when I would click it there would be another similar message just with different numbers. Eventually the parts of the monitors picture would freeze up and then the computer would not let me shut down because it would tell me something was running and waiting for an answer.
This just start happening this week and it is getting worse. Someone from the welcome forum refered me to the program where you basically clean house before coming back to you, I thought it would be great. When I did the first step and clicked start, run and then typed msconfig and then click ok like the program told me to right there windows came up with a box that said it could not find that file. So do I have something really bad or can you really help me. Like I said in my previous message I do not know anything about anything about computer and I need all the help I can get. I can only assume that you are running W2k ...which does not have a msconfig....so please do as much of the following as you can and attach the requested logs.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:

CounterSpy

AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy

Bitdefender - from step 6

Panda Scan - from step 6

runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat

newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat

HijackThis

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!
