please help- I am running in circles- did 'do this first' again but about: is back.

    So here goes the latest round:
    In safe mode, I ran
    Trend micro- clean
    Stinger- clean
    Cc cleaner
    Adaware SE found 4 HKEY (rgvalue, rg key, rg key, reg data)
    Spybot- none and immunized
    Updated spyware blaster
    CWshredder- none
    Kill2me
    About: blaster wouldn’t run in safe, so went to regular and ran it, then back to safe and ran it again- both times said ‘none found’
    HS remove- 8 items removed

    then out of safe mode:
    when I went online about:blank was gone!! But now www.dofinder.com keeps taking the page. And I have to keep installing activex control with every program I run.
    Online is still very slooooow. Also my AVGfree is now popping up with Trojan detected that it can neither quarantine nor remove… ugggghhh.

    Trojan scan 1 malware detected- program files\support software\ss2.DLL
    Bit defender online. The summary is at the top, but I had to attach the log separately.
    Rav antivirus- took about 45m to ‘update’ on first load- then said ‘update failed’- so did not run this one.

    Okay, so about: blank is now back. and startsearcher.com and i cannot type majorgeeks.com directly- it diverts immediately to dofinder and won't let me go back- i have to get here through google.

    also popups are back.

    please help!!! We homeschool and keep all our records on this computer…. I use it non-stop all day everyday… the kids are loving the ‘vacation’  but I need this thing to work.
