Please Help Me! I Am Being Over Run By Spyware

I really dont know what i am doing my computer keeps getting surfya and other windows opening up all the time. I cant play half life 2 as it keeps reverting back to windows to show me the new window. I have heard of Hijack this but dont want to screw it up anymore!

 

Welcome to MG donniedon Please start with the below. If you follow the dierections one step at a time you'll do fine.

- Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

- Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.


After doing ALL of the above if you still have a problem:

- Download HijackThis 1.99.1

- Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

- Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

- Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

- Run HijackThis and save your log file.

- Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

 

Abbysue at the moment i am following the thread..... DO NOT POST UNTIL YOU HAVE READ THIS: How to: Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal. And i am nearly finished. I hope this works as i have no confidence in myself using anything more complex. please keep checking up on me! i will post a reply as soon as i have finished.

 

Abbysue this did not work i still have the same issues i have completed the first task to the letter and i am very frustrated as it worked for about 20 mins then started bombearding me with dateline windows and allsorts............................please help me

 

If you completed all the steps in the READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal thread then you need to move on to the next steps as indicated in my previous post starting with where it says 'Very Important'.

Please provide the requested feedback and complete the hijack this step as instructed.
