In my Bios i have a settings called CMOS ratio, which I have found to be the multiplier (cpu freq x cmos ratio = cpu speed) and I understand that for best performance I want the multiplier as low as I can get it while keeping my speed up. This option allows me to change the cmos ratio between 9 and 22 (default at 22).

The part I don't understand is that i see a reading in CPUid that says FSB:DRAM = 4:20 and that ratio never changes no matter what i change in the bios. So I see that if my FSB is at 159 and my multiplier is at 22 this gives me 3.5Ghz cpu speed, but this leaves my DRAM freq at 795 or (159*5). My question after all of this explanation is... How high should I be able to raise my FSB while keeping the DRAM freq at a safe level? basically I don't know which spec of my ram I need to match this to.

Perhaps if you had posted in the overclocking part of the forum, you'd receive the help you wanted. http://forums.majorgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=29
Expecting to receive a response on an all volunteer forum within 12 hours is showing your impatience too. Quite a few posters have jobs/lives so responding (I'm in the Eastern time zone of the US) in the wee hours of the morning isn't going to happen too often on my end.

Jeje, the thread title suggest that you're asking to understand "overcloking" and i was thinking explain it to you as:

It's like a runner that use drugs, if he chooses the correct dosis he will be god, if don't he will die. :)

Don't know about it, but i found funny that i was thiking

    bahmtf,

Just went back and read all your posts, and no where did I see a retarded answer to any of your questions! I noticed quite a few posts where you posted no feedback.

As stated, this is an all volunteer help forum, and the members do have jobs and families.

That being said, perhaps you should look at this, http://www.google.com/search?q=over...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a. Not meant to be offensive, but it does give some information for an impatient and inquisitive mind. :)
