Please Help Me

Hello I am new to this site and just wanted to ask a question. I just bought a VisionTek ATI Radeon B2 256 HD2400PRO AGP and all I want to do is play some Counter Strike Source is this possible or have i just wasted $100 :cry I have a ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard and 512 mbs of ram the CCC installed with the drivers does not even work i do not know what to do can anyone help me

 

You're running in a pretty outdated platform You didn't mention your CPU, but you should be able to play CounterStrike Source. The minimum CPU is a 1.2ghz and minimum RAM is 256 and I'm assuming your CPU is over a 1.2ghz. There's one thing I don't understand:

You paid $100 for an ATI HD2400?? I think they're selling just about anywhere for about $60 or less. The HD2400 is only a 64bit card is really not that great, esp. for any gaming I now this isn't what you wanted to hear, but I'm only telling you the truth. If you can, return the card and spend the $100 on something better. There's many other AGP cards in that price range better than the HD2400. Well, CSS is an old game, so it will fine on that card. IIRC, Ati drivers need .NET framework. Is that installed? What do you see when the driver is working?

The .NET framework is installed and i reinstalled and the CCC is now working. Everything seems fine videos work well resoluition changed after I installed and looks fine. When I am trying to start CSS the flash screen pops up then it looks like its going through a few resoluitions then just turns shuts off. Also i am sorry about making 2 threads still new to this.

 

Ya it sucks I think im just going to return it its just the limited stock this store seems to have is making me buy inferior hardware so im going to get my money back and find somewhere new thanks for the advice

 

Ati have by far the worst AGP diver.If you think to continue with useing this card I sugest to download 7.7 version for your AGP graphic card,cos this is the most stable version for the time.

Well i went and traded in that piece of c**p and got myself a Geforce 6200 and it is working perfectly not to mention saving myself 30 bucks. I would like to thank everyone who helped me for your opinions and advice.
