Please Help! My Files Are Gone!

    I ran Combofix to rid a computer of some nasty viruses. Now, all desktop items are gone including important files that I need restored right away! :eek I ran a system restore but the files did not reappear. I've been at this for hours so any help resolving this issue will be GREATLY appreciated!

    Please attach the log from when you ran ComboFix.

    Thanks so much for responding; much appreciated! :) I actually found the files in the System Volume Information folder. Talk about luck! All documents and music files are intact but I can no longer access jpg files: "the item 000.jpg that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved so this shortcut will no longer work properly." I tried a System Restore but that didn't work. If you have any other thoughts please let me know and thanks again!

    I suggest you post in the software forum with help to restore those corrupt files. You may want to try using Recuva to access those items.
