Per instructions under "Removing Zlob aka SmitFraud, SpySheriff, Infections" I am attaching rapport file from smitfraudfix before proceeding to step 2.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Based on the SmitFraudFix logs, you do not have a SmitFraud infection. You do have a bunch of other problems though and need to run the below steps. Note: Please do not attach HijackThis logs as we don't require separate posts of them. They are part of our procedures below and will be installed and run properly using our procedures.

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    Greetings,

My apologies for prematurely posting Hijack This. Per instructions under "Read & RUN ME FIRST" I am attaching logs from Combofix, AVG, and MGLogs. I encountered no problems with any of the directions, although when running MGLogs it announces an error trying to access Process dll. Again, many thanks for this valuable help.

    Sincerely

Uninstall the below old versions of software:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
    Java(TM) 6 Update 2
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1
Viewpoint Media Player <-- should have been uninstalled in step 0 of the READ ME

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O2 - BHO: BDEX System - {87EF7048-8905-4E82-862E-65004D4DFA80} - C:\WINDOWS\domnftwwrn.dll
    O3 - Toolbar: The emlkdvo - {13EDA0D4-F00D-43B9-8EF2-6313909D3143} - C:\WINDOWS\emlkdvo.dll (file missing)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\bin\jusched.exe"
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTTask.exe" -atboottime
    O21 - SSODL: alxvdvm - {98BEBEF2-1109-418C-A56C-13DDCCA3F908} - C:\WINDOWS\alxvdvm.dll
    O21 - SSODL: bvtqfvx - {93D8E674-A4E6-416F-A441-E879F6AF59C6} - C:\WINDOWS\bvtqfvx.dll (file missing)

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now download The Avenger by Swandog46, and save it to your Desktop.
    • Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    • Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    • Check the 'Input script manually' box.
    • Click on the magnifying glass icon.
    • Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it in the box that opens:
    • Now click the 'Done' button.
    • Click on the traffic light icon and OK the prompt.
    • You will be prompted to restart, OK the prompt and your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    • A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt
After reboot look for all of the above files we had Avenger attempt to delete. If you still see them, delete them yourself.

    Now run Ccleaner!

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this and also attach the log from Avenger.

Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    Thank you,

I followed the instructions and have attached the MGlogs and Avenger updates. The following files were still there and had to be removed manually:

    C:\Documents and Settings\UserAccount\Local Settings\Temp\BIT14.tmp
    C:\Documents and Settings\UserAccount\Local Settings\Temp\BIT18.tmp
    C:\Documents and Settings\UserAccount\Local Settings\Temp\BIT18C.tmp
    C:\Documents and Settings\UserAccount\Local Settings\Temp\BIT19.tmp
    C:\Documents and Settings\UserAccount\Local Settings\Temp\BIT4C.tmp
    C:\Documents and Settings\UserAccount\Local Settings\Temp\BITAE.tmp

Upon reboot, Spybot still finds the following:

Zlob.Downloader.vcd: [SBI $D8DF6192] Settings (Registry key, nothing done) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VideoPlugin

Also, the original desktop is replaced by the standard blue screen. Other than these, I really haven't noticed too many performance issues.

    Sincerely

Just set it back to what you want.

Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Now reboot and after reboot delete all file in the below temp folder. Windows will stop you from deleting a couple from todays date.
    C:\Documents and Settings\UserAccount\Local Settings\Temp\

Now see if Spybot is clean. Also run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created

    Thanks,

Good news: the desktop is not removed on startup and the latest Spybot scan came out clean.

However, MGLogs still encounters an error with Processdll and seems to stop abruptly. Attached is the updated log, is this a problem?

    Sincerely

No! This is happening because you never installed the Microsoft .NET Framework software from Microsoft update.

Delete the below file from your Temp folder.
    Code:
    "C:\Documents and Settings\[B][COLOR=#800080]UserAccount[/COLOR][/B]\Local Settings\Temp\"
    bit14.tmp Dec 31 2007 85946 "BIT14.tmp"
    bit18.tmp Dec 31 2007 85946 "BIT18.tmp"
    bit18c.tmp Dec 31 2007 85946 "BIT18C.tmp"
    bit19.tmp Dec 31 2007 85946 "BIT19.tmp"
    bit4c.tmp Dec 31 2007 85946 "BIT4C.tmp"
    bit4d.tmp Dec 31 2007 85946 "BIT4D.tmp"
    bitae.tmp Dec 31 2007 85946 "BITAE.tmp"
    bitb9.tmp Dec 31 2007 85946 "BITB9.tmp"

After doing the above, your logs will be clean.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. If we used Pocket Killbox during your cleanup, do the below
      • Run Pocket Killbox and select File, Cleanup, Delete All Backups
    2. If we used ComboFix then UNINSTALL COMBOFIX (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN
      • Now type combofix /u in the runbox and click OK.
      • Note: The space between the X and the U, it must be there.
    3. If we user SDFix you can delete all the SDFix related files and folders from your Desktop or whereever you installed it.
    4. If we used SmitFraudFix, you can delete all files and folders related to it now including the c:\rapport.txt log.
    5. If we used VundoFix, you can delete the VundoFix.exe file and the C:\VundoFix Backups folder and C:\vundofix.txt log that was created.
    6. If we had your run FixWareOut, you can delete the Fixwareout.exe file and the C:\fixwareout folder.
    7. If we had you run Avenger, you can delete all files related to Avenger now.
    8. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    9. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    10. If you are running Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    11. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
