Hi I'm logging on for the first time and don't know what I'm doing.

I researched at work all of the "read this before posting", but at home I can't even get this site to come up unless I type in the address (as opposed to clicking on a link in Google).

Then, once in the link, none of the standard virus scans that are suggested will come up (link times out) such as spybot, ad-aware, etc.

I don't know how to proceed if I can't first follow the rules before posting.

Any ideas?

Try downloading the tools at work, burn them to a disc and get them to the ill machine that way. Run the scanners and removal tools as per the Cleanup Tutorial as best you can and get a HijackThis Log and save that to floppy and post it here as an attachment.

Also, take a look at the Hosts file on ill computer and tell us what it says. If your OS is XP, it would be here - C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\Hosts
