please help with hijack this

Would someone be kind enough to look through this and help me remove the infected entries its a guy's machine i am trying to help him out and dont have a lot of infomation except popups and the home page is about:blank and his sone visits lots of porn it was all over the computer i removed what i was able to...not much.

Please follow the steps below:

- Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

- Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:

I have tried as many of those steps as i was able to as well as searched the fourm but i have little knolledge of the registry and computers i need to be able to get to the point where the machine functions well enough to try any or most of the steps.

Ok Major i relized one big mistake in reading the info before posting i hope i got it all right i have a very hard time understanding computer/registries and this one that i am trying to fix is making it just about impossible i will post the hijack file and hope someone will help me get rid if the popups and about:blank homepage and everything else wrong with this computer. thank you

You do not need to do anything in the registry yourself. What you need to do is run the stes in the procedure Major Attitude gave to you and then attach the THREE requested logs. You also need to install HijackThis properly as requested in step 7. However, before you continue on to running ALL the steps in the READ ME, you need to run the below procedure and then attach the requested log here:

Now run the READ ME!

Thanks but i have no idea where i am going with this its way beyond my understanding of coputers if i was able to follow those directions and i have tried at this point i am thinking format i know its a big pain to look through the registry but i have no understanding of any of this thank you just the same.

If you know how to format and reinstall, then you should be more than capable of following those directions. Hundreds of novices do it each week.

At anyrate the choice is yours! But formatting and reinstalling your OS and ALL other software and then downloading all patches for you OS and other software is more time consuming then you think. And then you have to retweak everything to get the settings back to how you had them. And by the way if you did not backup all of your important info and own data, they are gone (email, document files, MP3 files, etc).
