Please Help!

All my applications (mainly games), have started using a different font. A lot of it just ends of being garbage, and everything else is to small to read...how do I fix this!?

 

The first thing to do is run spyware/virus scans.

A good online scan is here:

Once your sure your system is clean and you still have this problem, at least a possible cause has been eliminated.

 

Are you displaying everything in wingdings?

It looks something like this:

 

If so, the fonts key in your registry is corrupted.

You can download and double click to import this, and fix it. Im sure I have fonts you dont, but it wont hurt anything to have extra font info, just not enough.

You will need to unzip it first.

 

Not to hijack this thread, but I get characters like that sometimes when I am going to my regular news sites. Is it a problem with them or with me? if I refresh, it usually goes away.

 

Something entirely different. That sounds like corrupted data.

This problem occurs everywhere, even on the start button.

Yes, it is wingdings, but everything else is Franklin Gothic Medium, which makes it really difficult to read. And i'm afraid that those fonts didn't help.

Make a new user account and see if the problem is still there.
