i recently started having problems with my computer, it wont let me access some programs. it wouldnt let me go into my computer or right click start and explore it just closes it down.
ive followed the read and run me guide as much as i could but couldnt use the MGtools.
it said type C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts into run but i dont have hijackthis so wasnt sure what to do.
these are the logs i could get.

I think you are not giving us the correct message because MGtools does not ask you to type that in. And you do have HijackThis as it is part of MGtools.exe. You just have to accept the license agreement that comes up as explained in the READ & RUN ME. Please try the Using MGtools process again and follow instructions exactly as written. You must follow the steps Vista exactly. Perhaps the message you really are referring to was saying you need to be running as Admininstrator to allow access to the hosts files. Read the message windows that may popup carefully.

Why did you attach the instructions for using Spybot that were given in the READ ME???

hi i tried using MGtools again but got the same message
For some reason your system denied write access to the Hosts file.if any hijacked domains are in this file,Hijack this may not be able to fix this.
if that happens, you need t edit the file yourself. to do this , click start, Run and type:
    notepad C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
and press Enter. Find the line(s) Hijack this reports and delete them.
save the file as 'hosts'. (with quotes) and reboot.
For vista: simply, exit Hijack this, right click on the hijack this icon, choose 'Run as administrator.

i tried doing as it said but when i type that into run all that shows up is 127.0.0.1 localhost
Also i am the administrator but it keeps saying that i am not??

You need to follow the instructions properly for using MGtools with Vista. You must disable UAC and reboot and then you must run GetLogs.bat as administrator. Using an account with administrator priviledges is not the same thing as selecting Run As Administrator. Always make sure you follow the instructions as they are written.

You do not appear to be having problems with malware.

I suggest that you provide specific details in a message in the Software Forum.

I believe that was already removed by SUPERAntispyware. In you log attached to message # 1 was the below which was removed already.
Where did Avast find a problem? It may have just been in a quarantine or in System Restore. Do you have a log?
