Hi, I have a problem with my computer booting up. It only boots up to the advanced start up screen. I've tried every possible start up option but nothing works. At most I get the screen where windows XP is trying to start but then I get the blue death screen for a millisecond and reboots again to the advanced start up screen. I've tried cleaning the comp and disconnecting/reconnecting all wires and RAM. I believe I have the W32/IRCbot.worm!MS05-039 bug but I can't install anything to try and remove the worm. I tried putting the XP cd in and can get to a command prompt thru recovery but don't know what type of commands I could use if any. If anyone can provide any type of advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

I have moved your thread to software as there is not much we can help you with malware wise until you can boot up to a stable system.

I'm not sure I'll be of much help with getting XP running again as I used to just reload it rather than run down the problem. But try choosing "Disable Restart on Error" from the advanced startup menu and see if you can get any information from the Blue Screen (numeric codes and/or file names) that might help point to the problem.
