Hi, I am new here, but I have tried everything to get rid of this adware on my computer and it doesn't seem to be working.

I followed all the instructions in "DO NOT POST UNTIL YOU HAVE READ THIS: How to: Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal " and it is still present. I even followed the steps for the Highjack This! tutorial and this was also not successful. After following all procedures, the following things are still found:

    · Ad-Aware is still detecting "tracking cookies" including several hits to “2o7.net” and “edge.ru4.com”, amongst others
    · Norton Anti-Virus 2005 found 2 Adware.NetOptimizer files (Ipkg.exe and rogue.exe) which it will not delete
    · Trend Micro’s HouseCall found two viruses (both TROJ SMALL.SN) and says that they are “non-cleanable”

Just let me know if you want me to post my log for Hijack This! or anything else I can do to help you help me ASAP. I really appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks!

    Welcome to MG :)

Also, in order to help you better we need to know what your OS (operating system) is.

If you are absolutely sure that you have followed ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal then go ahead and read the Hijackthis Tutorial and attach your HJT log.

Make sure you have HijackThis 1.99 and follow the guidelines on where to install it and how to post a log as an attachment. This is all covered in the sticky thread
NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

Now post a HijackThis log as an attachment to your message (Do not post the log inline). All running programs should be closed, including your web browser, e-mail.
    Close before running Hijack This!

To repeat: Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder, for example C:\Program Files\HJT

Please also be patient in waiting for replies and responses as there are a limited number of people who are able to help you and as you can see by the posts on this forum there are many people out there who have questions/problems. Thanks and again welcome to MG :)

    sw:)

What problems are you having? I see little in your log to worry about.

You ought to Uninstall Viewpoint:C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager

Fix this minor cleanup with HJT:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {00000010-6F7D-442C-93E3-4A4827C2E4C8} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {549B5CA7-4A86-11D7-A4DF-000874180BB3} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe

    Are you still having problems?

OK....I did what you said and Norton is still detecting the same 2 things that I mentioned in my first post. The main problem that I am having is pop-ups. Am I missing something? Here is my new log after doing what you said.

    Your HJT log is clean.

You will get tracking cookies wherever you go online. Tribalfusion is here at MGs. Just use CCleaner on a regular basis to clean them if you so desire. Also, use SpybotSD's "Immunize" feature and set it to "Bloak bad items Silently."

If your AV keeps notifying you of infected and uncleanable files, you may have to navigate to them and remove them manually.

    PP :)
