Lenovo ideapad 100, Windows 10. Says it's connected, but it isn't. A bit frustrated. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Ed.

    Some suggestions:
    Ensure Airplane mode isn’t enabled.
    Restart the PC & Router/Modem.
If connected via Ethernet then try another cable.
If running any third party antivirus &/or Firewall then disable this to see if it is causing the problem.

Also make sure under the wireless networks available, it is connected to your network and not set to connect to someone else's that might be protected.

Not much info.....crystal ball is broken!
What is your network map layout?
How do you achieve connection normally?

Sorry it took a while to respond. Was getting 3 stents put in at Mayo on Friday. We usually connect wirelessly to our good fiberoptic internet. Lots of devices use it with no problem. Have gone to an ethernet cable plugged into an extender, which is actually in the same room as the router, and the connection is good. I used ccleaner, and malwarebytes, and cleaned up the computer as best as I could. Was able to get it to connect, but it's spotty. No, airplane mode is not enabled. My wife has been complaining about this computer for a couple of years now. It owes us nothing, but she won't buy one. I tried to get her one, but she doesn't like what I pick, so the ball is in her court really. I like to fix problems, and it seems like this computer should work fine. Might try just connecting wirelessly, not a big fan of extenders, unless absolutely necessary. I really appreciate the replies. Thanks, Ed

Have you restarted the PC &/or the modem/router?
Can you rule out the Ethernet extender?
Have you tried a different Ethernet cable?
Have you updated the wifi module drivers?
