As mentioned to Chaslang I have a Vista laptop from the same owner as the Win8 machine he just helped clean. This is now the backup machine and was the primary until it got infected. The Charter cable installer told the owner to buy a new machine when he couldn't get it to connect to her WiFi. I got it to connect on the first try before attempting cleanings.

Vista32 with expired McAfee AV (Replaced temporarily with AVG Free to run scan/removal), browser redirects, pop-ups, adware, possible rootkit(s).

Looks like a rootkit may be on here still running hidden processes (seen in RKK & Process Explorer). I had success connecting to the web at first and running scans with required software and additionally Adwcleaner and JRT. I now get "Page not found" errors in both browsers when trying to post logs, though I am connected to Internet according to Network Sharing Center, so I am doing this post from another machine. Hitman won't connect to Internet to begin second scan so this is my only log for it. I have also toggled System Restore once already.

Let me know if I need further. I am going to reset the TCP/IP stack and flush the DNS

Re run Hitman if you can and have it remove what it finds.

I am not seeing any other issues. RogueKiller did NOT find a rootkit :)

Thanks for the prompt reply Kestresl13!

I reset the TCP/IP stack and the browsers now get past the "page not found" error. I re-ran Hitman and posted the log. Glad to know all the rest of the logs look good.

    Hey Kestrel13!

If they're anything like the previous "final steps" I'm pretty sure I know what to do. Are we clean! Can I give it back to her with instruction on what not to do so this doesn't happen again.

I'm ready give me the breaking news :)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
