Hi, my computer started giving me problems, ie: crashing, blue screens, pop up boxes and iexplore.exe multiples... even though I had Ad-ware and Avast programs running. So i followed the Windows XP Cleaning Procedure and here are the logs from it. If someone could review these and tell me what further actions are needed that would be great! :)

Also the program SUPERAntiSpyware would not run, a box popped up stating: a problem has occurred, and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware would not let me change the name nor would it save to my computer. I also ran the programs Process Explorer, Killbox, CCleaner and HiJackThis to see if it would help. My Ad-ware program would not run so I deleted the program and also deleted Avast but reloaded through this website, though it did not pick up any infected files.

Hello, kendil - please do not install any other software while we are still working with you unless instructed. Once we have given you the all clean and final instructions you will be free to install what you want.

Please delete this improper file save - C:\Documents and Settings\Serena\Desktop\MGtools.exe.

    Then try doing the below:

Note: You may need to download to a different computer and transfer via cd.

    • Go to TDSSKiller and Download TDSSKiller.zip to your Desktop
    • Extract its contents to your Desktop so that you have TDSSKiller.exe directly on your Desktop and not in any subfolder of the Desktop.
    • Click Start > Run and copy/paste the following bold command into Run box and hit Enter.

    "%userprofile%\Desktop\TDSSKiller.exe" -l C:\TDSSKiller.txt -v

    • Follow the instructions to type in "delete" when it asks you what to do when if finds something.
    • When done, a log file should be created on your C: drive called "TDSSKiller.txt" - please attach it in your next reply.

Now see if you can download/install/update and run both SAS and MBAM according to our Windows XP Cleaning Procedure.

Then run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

Please attach the below logs to your next reply:
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
    • C:\TDSSKiller.txt
    • SASlog.txt
    • Malwarebytes Anti-Malware log

    * Make sure you tell me if you had any problems running this procedure; and answer this - "What malware problems are you still experiencing?"

    dr.m
