Hi, I hope someone can help me. When I switch on there is a white screen saying please wait while the connection is beeing established.

I can't boot up, no safe mode, no task manager.
I have read other threads on here and followed the advice, nothing seems to be relevant as I can’t even get into safe mode.

Everytime I try to boot, I get the same thing in normal mode or safe mode.
I see some people have used the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and created a file which they have uploaded for you to look at. Without being able to do anything on the computer, is this something I would be able to do?
    Operating system Windows XP.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

No FRST is of no use for you as it only works properly for Vista and Win 7.

Please reboot your PC and get to the boot menu. Select Safe Mode with Command Prompt.

If you can get this to come up with a command prompt:
    • then type explorer in the command prompt and see if the Windows Start button now shows up with the Taskbar.
    • If it does, then click Start , Run and type msconfig into the Run box and click okay.
    • In MSconfig click on the Startup tab and then select click the Disable All button to disable all startups.
    • Then click Apply and OK.
    • Then allow the PC to reboot and see if you can boot in normal mode now.
    • If you can then try to run the below:

    Thanks chaslang

When I try to start in safe mode with command prompt it comes with a blue screen that starts:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
    UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

    Anything else I can try?

    Thanks again
