    Hey guys,

I've also caught the "please wait while the connection is being established" virus.
This day the one moment my pc was working fine, i wasn't downloading anything (did have some browser windows open though) and suddenly the white screen popped up. I rebooted, rebooted in save-mode, tried ctrl-alt-deleted, set back a recovery point from system recovery options, nothing helped.

I've done as said in some other threads and created the FRST.txt
If I did understand correctly i now need an fixlist.txt, but this is personal right?

    I'm running windows 7 32 bit

I hope someone will be able and willing to help me.

    Thanks in advance,
    Polbeer91

    Welcome to MajorGeeks, Polbeer91 :)

There is not any malware in your log. It looks like you are in the middle of a System Restore. Please try rebooting a couple of times and ensure that you are indeed still getting the ransom screen. If you are, then run another scan with FRST and attach the newest log.

    Thanks for your quick reply.

I did try to use system restore but it didn't work.
But I'll do what you say, since you probably know what you're talking about.

Once logged on I cannot do anything (can press ctrl-alt-del and select shut down, but nothing happens. I rebooted a couple of times into windows without logging on, and then shutting down from there. I also started windows repair a couple of times and then chose cancel->restart.

I deleted the old FRST.txt file, so i'm positive this indeed the new version.
Should i leave all the checkboxes checked btw?

Here is the new frst.txt file, hope it helps.

    Hi,

So you are able to log into Windows, and you are NOT seeing the "Please wait while the connection is beeing established" screen anymore?

There is not any malware in this log either. But it seems like the system is still in the process of doing a system restore. Let's cancel this process by running the fix below.

If you are still unable to boot, then attach both the Fixlog.txt AND a new FRST.txt for me.

    Yes.

    __

NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system

    Attached is fixlist.txt
    • Save fixlist.txt to your flash drive.
    • You should now have both fixlist.txt and FRST.exe on your flash drive.

    Now re-enter System Recovery Options.
Run FRST and press the Fix button just once and wait.
The tool will make a log on the flashdrive (Fixlog.txt).
Please attach this to your next message. (How to attach)

    Now attempt to boot normally.

Again, thanks for the, this time even quicker, reply.

I ám able to start windows and get to the logon screen just fine. From here i can reboot and shut down.
When I log on to my user account, i get the white screen saying "please wait while connection...". The only thing i can do then is press ctrl-alt-delete. This doesn't help however, since rebooting from here doesn't work, nor can i open the taskmanager. This all hasn't changed since the problem first came up.

I ran the fix you provided, rebooted, checked if the problem persisted (it did), rebooted again and took another scan.

    Both files requested are attached.

    Hi,

There isn't any malware shown in this log either.

Please try what is described in this post

    Hey thisisu

I tried to run the kaspersky tool you linked to: I tried to boot from usb but it booted windows anyway. I don't know if the tool did anything, however the white screen was gone. My task manager and regedit.exe were still locked however. Then at the university, a project group mate mentioned that our msdnaa licences had been renewed, so i decided to be done with it and reinstall windows (was at least two years since last time, so my pc could use it)

I ran linux from a usb and took my data of the disk, and installed windows 7.
So i now have a running, nice and clean installation of windows (saves a lot of disk space to only copy what you need).

So my problem is over altough it wasn't necessarily fixed.

Thanks for all the help, nice to know there are people out there who want to help others with their problems.
