PLS's Help Request

Asking for help with Malware--
I've gone through the steps in the "Read and Run Me First" post. Attached are three of the four logs--Panda Active Scan did not make a log.

I'll attach the HJT log onto this thread.

Sorry, and thanks for the update info.

The computer's problems are:

• a specific problem in PowerPoint (described below),
• general malaise and slowness,
• on shutdown, I get a "wait for shellconhiddenwindow to shut down" message.

The PowerPoint problem: PP loads OK, but the thumbnails in Design Template view take forever (several minutes) to load, and the computer basically has a nervous breakdown when I try to change the template for a particular slide.

If I boot in safe mode, this PowerPoint problem goes away (I don't know about shellconhiddenwindow), so it's SOMETHING in the startup. But I can't live in safe mode, you know?

I'd thought that there might be some malware causing the problem.

My IT guys say that the best option is to back up all my docs and files, then format and reload Windows. I'd prefer to avoid that if I can.

Any ideas?
