My Dell Inspiration 1525 has quit charging. I get the message plugged in not charging. Have tried several things but no help. Seems to be common problem with the 1525. Welcome any suggestions.:

Did some searching and found that others has fixed that problem by bending the center pin in the charging plug, where it plugs into the laptop, be sure charger is unplugged. Seems this wears and dont make contact Let us know. ed

Dosent your battery have a test button on it? Let the battery set for a little while then test, it sounds like your battery may be bad. ed

This probably does not apply, but I have a toshiba that the battery ceased working on a few years ago. However, the hard drive recently died and I replaced it. I re-installed XP Pro on the system and the battery started working again. :confused All I can think of is that something in the system that reports or controls the battery had become corrupt.

Dont know for sure but, i have heard that you need to run your battery all the way down, then windows will attempt to calibrate the new charge. ed

I am having the same problem. Brand new battery, shows it is plugged in but not charging. Five million problems out there but apparently no fixes yet. I wished I knew this before I wasted money on a new battery

    most probably a motherboard issue.

    Hi,

Most (maybe all) laptop chargers stop charging when the battery reaches 100% charge. That's normal. If the "Charger" (AC adaptor) runs the laptop it is OK.

    Luck, Jim
