Podcast

I have the opportunity to download magazines. It was suggested I sign up for the podcast of the magazines. Not knowing anything about the technology, how or where would I learn how to go about it. If I understand correctly, when I subscibe to the podcast it automatically downloads to my computer when the magazines are ready. Do I understand this correctly? I know this may be an indepth explanation but how could I get any information about the process? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
