politically incorrect

What a nut he is . . . I've never watched/heard his show, but I hear he is out there.

 

Some people don't know the difference between having a strong opinion based on facts (educated opinion), and just being an over-opinionated blockhead. Something not just restricted to radio and television, unfortunately. rolleyes

 

lol, when i read it. thanks natakel. just after you posted i saw the whole thing on 'the daily show'. (the only 'news' i watch, and the US equivalent of "not the nine o'clock news')

When I saw the title to this thread, I just knew I had to stop in. I am probably one of the Kings of Political Incorrectness. I tell it like it is and consequences be darned

Funny thing is, Al Sharpton is blowing such a huge fit over what Imus said, when if you go check out the Queens of Comedy, they pretty much say the same thing about us white folk.

I don't listen to Imus a lot, but when I do, I have to say that I appreciate his general style, even if I do disagree with him sometimes. While I do agree that his particualr choice of words was an inadvisable choice, I think that this whole thing is being blown out of proportion. Especially when an African-American congresswoman gets on the news and complains about how 'her people' have it so bad. Are there discrepencies if you look along race lines? Darn skippy there are, but form someone who lives in a lower income neighborhood, people make their own bed and then complain about having to sleep in it. I am so tired of hearing about how 'The Man' is holding the 'brother' back. The 'brother' is holding him/herself back without any help fomr anyone.

No one makes you adopt a style of wearing your pants that originated in a jail, you chose that. No one makes you speak the way you do, you choose to. I ride the bus every single day, and I'm sorry to say, but the 'African-America' youth is headed even further down the tubes than thier previous generation. When every other word out of their mouth if F this or N that, if you can't sound intelligent, don't expect to find a job where you are required to have some intelligence. I have met any number of 'African-American' people who are intelligent and stylish and haven't forgotten their roots, and they are the ones who have helped me to develop the above opinions. I may not have a PhD or anything, but I do have one thing going for me, I am not afraid to talk to people, and I don't give a rat's backside in Hades what color your skin is, if you act/speak in an unintelligent fashion and dress like you just got out of jail, don't expect to go very far in this world. Period.

Sorry, but this whole Imus thing has gotten my dander up, like I said earlier, if you watch Queens of Comedy or any other comedy show that has primarily 'African-American' comedians, you will see that they make Imus and his comments look like a Sunday Sermon by comparison.

PS: oh yeah, My Dad's parents were the first to come here on that side of my family, and on my mom's side, they were poor Irish immigrants who ended up in Indentured Servitude on arrival, which is really no different than being a slave, so maybe I should start complaining that 'the man' is holding me back too.....LOL
