I think something is wrong with my evga 6600gt when i got it it scored around 3400 on 3dmark 05 I managed to OC it to 570/1100 and got it up to 3700 the temperature never went above 70C and idled at about 52C recently I decided to run 3dmark 05 again and I got a score of 2200 temperature maxed out a 62C so I tried setting the clock to default, almost the same score. any idea what the problem could be? I installed the latest driver when i got it about 2 weeks ago, I did notice poor performance in Quake 4. it is a pci-e video card.

sounds like something was running in the background when you scored 2200. may check your processes when you get a slowdown like that and see what is running.

I really have no idea what processes shoudl and shouldn't be running, they all have wierd names like hpwSchd2.exe I noticed some itunes crap and I never use itunes anyway, it came pre-installed on my compaq.

3DM05 tests not only the fx card but also the CPU, Memory etc. It could be you had other stuff running or it could even be spyware.
