Hi, my son was downloading some stuff the other day (not really sure what... :mad ) and now when I am browsing with Firefox, Internet Explorer pops open windows to random sites. Sometimes Firefox will get hijacked, but not as often. Firefox is my default browser. I followed your guide and here are the logs and all. I heard that Vundo does something like that and used Symantec's FixVundo, but to no avail.

I used CCleaner, but had thought I uninstalled Norton before that, so emptying the protected bin wasn't something I did. I know he (my son) was playing with Norton and such when it started going screwy, so that's the first thing I uninstalled. I used Symantec's Norton_Removal_Tool.exe a couple times to make sure its gone. I updated the JRE, too.

I've run the entire process a couple times, but I don't seem to be making any headway, as you'll probably see from the logs. I did run into the "PendingFileRenameOperations" prompt on 2 or 3 of my runs at it. I have no problems importing the fixMe.reg file. The things I noticed most are the BHOs and Winlogon Notifys that are still in the HJT log never went away.

Still having problems with it, HJT isn't successfully removing the BHO and O20 lines. I still got the error from Killbox when it was restarting, and I can't find a log for the PurityScan uninstaller. Here are the new logs...
