Pop-ups and slow web browsing

I was hit by the Spy Sheriff virus a few days ago. Managed to delete it and recover from the browser and desktop hijack problems, however ever since it hit me I have been plagued with web browser pop-ups spawning frequently. I have tried cleaning with Ad Aware SE, Spybot S&D, Spy Sweeper, and Microsoft's Anti-Virus program, but the pop-ups still continue. And the web browsing speed has slowed to nearly a crawl.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

• Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:

Ok I've followed the instructions for steps 1-6 and was able to get rid of multiple instances of adware and cookies, however Panda scan reports 3 viruses and 7 instances of spyware remain.

I have run HJT.

Included are:
- log of Bitdefender
- log of Panda scan
- HJT log

Scan with HijackThis and fix the following:

REBOOT to Safe Mode.

Open Windows Explorer; navigate to and delete the following:

REBOOT to Normal Mode.

I noticed that you have Spy Sweeper installed, if it is teh full retail version; please update teh defintions and run a full system scan.

If not follow the directions for Running Hoster.

Post a fresh HijackThis log along with the Spy Sweeper/Ewido log; whichever you ran.

Your log is clean.

Disable system restore, and then enable system restore. This will flush your restore points and create a new restore point.

Now it's my wife's computer's turn.

Completed steps 1-6. Couldn't do either the full AdAware scan (complete scan), the Bitdefender scan, or the Panda Scan because it would crash about halfway through each time with a Bad_Kernel_Error in one of the Windows Uninstall directories.

Attached is the HJT output.

Any advice on how to fix the Bad Kernel Error?

In HJT Choose Open the Misc Tools Section choose Process Manager, Highlight:

Choose Kill Process

Now scan and have HJT Fix the following:

REBOOTto Safe Mode.

Open Windows Explorer; navigate to and delete the following:

REBOOT to Normal Mode.

Post a fresh HijackThis log.

 

Done. New HJT log posted.
