Pop UPs everywhere

    Hi...
    I am trying to help my friend. Her computer is inundated by pop-ups... her computer is pretty much unusable.
    I have tried to do the things at http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 to get started, but so many pop ups. I downloaded what I thought was DeFogger, but there was nothing on the download to identify it as being any part of it. There were so many pop ups on that page. Then, I also got a pop us saying that download was malware....
    so, I went on to the next step, CCleaner... it wouldn't even download for me.

    Can someone help gets us started on the clean up process?

    Try using safe mode with networking if normal mode is proving to be difficult for you. :)

    Or... use another computer to download tools needed and transfer with flashdrive.
