Pop-ups keep trying to get me to install ie-av.exe

    Hi

Apologies in advance if the answers to this thread are elsewhere on this forum - I've had a good look and found things that are similar, but not exactly the same. If I'm in the wrong place or this has been answered before somewhere that I haven't found, please point me in the right direction!

My problem is this: last night, trying to install a free version of Winrar I seem to have installed some malware that tries, whenever I open Internet Explorer, to get me to download something called ie-av.exe from a site called getieantivirus.com. If I keep closing the pop-up windows it still directs me to a site called free-antiviruscan.com/id/4912933/4/1. In the end, Internet Explorer crashes as there as so many pop-up windows open trying to get me to go to this site, and I'm now basically unable to go on the internet.

Also, when I try to open the Program Files folders on the C Drive I get the same message, which says: "Critical Error! Attention, Mat! Some dangerous viruses detected in your system. Microsoft Windows XP Files corrupted. This may lead to the destruction of important files in C:\Windows. Download protection software now. Click OK to download the antispyware (recommended)."

I'm now at work (as I can't post to this site from home, due to the above problem) and just wondering what I do next. Hopefully, having had problems like this before, one of you kind souls will tell me what I need to post here, whether it's a Hijack This file or whatever, but please remember that it's virtually impossible for me to get on the net at home. I'd need to download an exe of whatever file I need to run here at work, and take it home on my memory stick, to then run it at home to get data to post here when I'm in work again (If that makes any sense!).

Hopefully this isn't any more serious than just removing the malware - I really hope not as my PC is only a week old!

I've got some screengrabs, but don't think I can upload them here?

    Can anyone help, please?

Attached is a zipfile with 3 screengrabs in, they were all too big to post individually.

    Thanks

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.

Note: If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can running steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
