pop3 email

what's pop3 email.what's the difference between it and web-based email.btw what's good about pop3 email.please comments.

 

Web based is so you can check it from where you like, say I have an ntlworld account (ntl being my ISP) and they offer Webmail which is a thing on their site so you can check your email. Pop3 is so you can set it up in Outlook, Outlook express etc etc whatever mail checking software you use. It's the settings your ISP or mail provider has so you can check your mail from other software..................................I think!
