    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
      • CounterSpy
      • AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
      • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • HijackThis
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

Re: Logs posted afte going through "Read and Run Me First" Part 2

First run this ViewpointKiller to remove Viewpoint Media software. Make sure you select to have it remove all Viewpoint related objects.

Now uninstall the below old versions of software:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9

Make sure you reboot after uninstalling the above!

After reboot, now install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment

Okay now uninstall the Sunbelt CounterSpy trial since we are finished with it now! Then delete the below two folders left behind by the uninstall:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Scott Ferguson\Local Settings\Application Data\Sunbelt Software
    C:\Program Files\Sunbelt Software

Do you know what the below folder is for? If not, what is in it?
    C:\Program Files\SP34327

Now download HOSTER and then follow the below steps.
    • Unzip Hoster to a convenient folder such as C:\Hoster
    • Run Hoster.exe, click Restore Microsoft's Hosts File and then click OK.
    • Click the X to exit the program
Make sure viewing of hidden files is enabled (per the tutorial).

Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ProfileWatcher] C:\Program Files\ProfileWatcher\profilewatcher.exe

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Cast One] C:\DOCUME~1\SCOTTF~1\APPLIC~1\DEAFFR~1\typebuildfork.exe
    O9 - Extra button: AIM - {AC9E2541-2814-11d5-BC6D-00B0D0A1DE45} - C:\Program Files\AIM\aim.exe (file missing)
    O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {e2e2dd38-d088-4134-82b7-f2ba38496583} - %windir%\Network Diagnostic\xpnetdiag.exe (file missing)
    O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: @xpsp3res.dll,-20001 - {e2e2dd38-d088-4134-82b7-f2ba38496583} - %windir%\Network Diagnostic\xpnetdiag.exe (file missing)
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: WRNotifier - WRLogonNTF.dll (file missing)exe

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    Now reboot in normal mode

Now locate the below folders and delete it if found:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\creative phone bike ford
    C:\Documents and Settings\Scott Ferguson\Application Data\deaffraghole
    C:\Program Files\deaffraghole
    C:\Program Files\Morpheus
    C:\Program Files\MorpheusBar
    C:\Program Files\Torrent101

    Now run Ccleaner

Now attach the below new logs and tell me how the above steps went.
    1. GetRunKey
    2. ShowNew
    3. HJT

Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Reminder Note: Once we have determined you are malware free you will need to disable System Restore, reboot, and re-enable system restore per step 1 of the READ & RUN ME. This only applies to if using WinXP or WinMe.

Hi I couldn't delete the creative phone bike ford folder or anything in it. And IE& still wont open links in a new tab, and my settings are set to do that. Thank you for helping me!

Run the whole procedure again (some items may not be found - just ignore and continue) HOWEVER, first disable Windows Defender before starting the process. I believe it blocked some of the fixes.

    To Disable Windows Defender:
    • Open Windows Defender
    • Click Tools
    • Click General Settings
    • Scroll down to Real Time Protection Options
    • Uncheck Turn on Real Time Protection (recommended)
    • Close Windows Defender
Once your log is clean you can re-enable Windows Defender Real Time Protection.

After running the procedure in step 5 again, attach new logs and also see if you can get your IE settings to work now.

You did not answer my question:

Hi actually I restarted my computer and started it back up today and everything looks great! Sorry I don't know what the folder was so I just deleted it.

Let me correct myself: I shut down my computer last night, and restarted it today and everything is great. Better than before actually, I think that new verison of Java helped out with some problems.

The logs in message # 6 still show infections! You need to do all of what I requested in message # 7.
